The Haydonites, a riddle wrapped in a conundrum…and treachery personified.

The Haydonites are as mysterious today as they were when the UEEF first encountered them. They were among the Sentinel races that helped the UEEF rise to power as a galactic force to be reckoned with. They helped in the recapture of Tirol, Karberra, and many other planets occupied by the Invid Regents forces. Not only did they become credible assets to the forces of the Expedition, they actively lent their technological expertise and helped their allies decipher the mystery of Shadow Technology, becoming nearly indispensable in the fight against the treacherous Colonel T.R. Edwards. This helped lead to the development of the powerful Shadow Fighters, Synchro Cannons, and Neutron S missiles.

However, the closer the UEEF worked with the Haydonites, the more they realized the less they knew of their enigmatic allies. They did not talk about their home world Haydon IV much, and seemed evasive about questions regarding it and their culture. They also purposefully hid from their allies that they had originally worked with, then warred with the Invid. The UEEF High Command did not pry, respecting the Haydonite's request for privacy. This proved a fatal oversight, as the High Commands desire to appease their allies would later come back to haunt them. After all how could they have known that while they were sharing technologies and working with these mysterious peoples to retake occupied worlds that their supposed "friends" were working with the mysterious Awareness to prepare a sneak attack to wipe them out?

The inevitable Haydonite Betrayal indeed came as a shock to the UEEF personnel, and once fully realized the Commands decision in allowing their "allies" unprecedented access to their technologies would prove to be a costly blunder. Not only did the SDF-3 get badly damaged in an explosion of a sabotaged Neutron S warhead, the Haydonite attack on the forces around Earth-space resulted in heavy losses for the UEEF, as their new Shadow Fighters and Synchro Cannons were revealed to be sabotaged, the Haydonites able to use this sabotage to destroy anything equipped with their technologies. On top of the sabotage, the betrayal was made even more bitter by the loss of Space Station Liberty in a last ditch effort to stop the overwhelming Haydonite forces that were seeking to annihilate the Human forces.

What is known about the Haydonites? The painful answer is not much. Their current military strength is unknown, but encounters with them throughout the galaxy seem to suggest there is many more of them than initial estimates. On top of this, the fact that they possess unprecedented access to Shadow Technology, as well as apparent technological superiority gives them a major advantage. They have been observed deploying Synchro Cannons on both air and ground forces, and already these technologies are wrecking havoc on UEEF forces unlucky enough to engage them. To make matters worse, Intelligence reports on the Haydonites is sparse, most UEEF personnel not living long enough to confirm or deny reports.

What is known is that the Haydonites are a relentless foe and will do anything to annihilate the races that use Protoculture. They are an ancient enemy who uses treachery and guile to surprise and then annihilate their foes. The question is: why? Why did they not annihilate Humanity when they were first discovering the many secrets of the Protoculture and how to use it? Why do they fear Protoculture so much? And most importantly, what are their ultimate goals? These are the questions that Humanity must answer if they are to survive the tide of enemy known as the Children of the Shadow: The Haydonites!

Haydonite Firearms

Submachine Gun

Haydonite Submachine Gun
A staple of the common Haydonite ground forces encountered by the UEEF, the Haydonite SMG is nevertheless as deadly as some of the heavier weaponry fielded by the Haydonites. Captured weapons have been disassembled to reveal a deceptively simple weapon, but with complex mechanisms that make the weapon the envy of any gunsmith. The weapons barrel is rifled, and unlike many of the UEEF weapons, delivers a projectile instead of laser bursts.
